Snow Day

Last night, we got almost 8 inches of snow.  While snow for Northern Alabama isn't unheard of, 8 inches is a rare thing!  When we woke up this morning, it was absolutely beautiful outside.  Snow covered EVERYTHING and Alex couldn't wait to get outside to play in it!  Luckily, because of the amount of snow Larry didn't have to go to work, so he could do most of the playing with Alex and I could stand around and take pictures :)

We don't have a sled or anything that most northerners have to play in the snow, so we improvised!  Larry inflated a few of the pool floats that we have and also inflated the giant turtle pool float.  He tried to take Alex down the hill in front of our house, but the floats didn't work so well (there was a thin sheet of ice on top of the snow and t the floats did not slide down the hill very easily).  Fortunately for Alex, Larry came up with the idea to pull him around on the turtle.  Alex had a great time!

We played outside for almost 2 hours and had to bribe Alex to come inside.  It was such a fun morning!

Here are some pictures from our time in the snow:

Unfortunately, my child got my gracefulness:

Two of the three dogs came out to play in the snow, too!  Rascal decided it was too cold and stayed inside:
