Sweet Baby Katelyn

Here are a few pictures of our sweet "niece"!  I took these when I was in Ohio for Joshua's birth!

Enjoy these pictures...she is a ham!  I love her smiles and her giggles!  God help her if Larry and I don't have a little girl in the future...I plan to spoil her rotten!

Happy Birthday, Joshua Carl Davis!!

Our "nephew" Joshua Carl Davis (and I put that in quotes because he isn't really blood related to us, but I feel so much like Jenny, my best friend, is my sister that he is my "nephew"), was born on February 26, 2010 at 1:50 pm.

The birth was incredible to witness.  Jenny allowed me to be in the delivery room with her.  I have never felt more honored or filled with pride/happiness in my entire life!  And seriously, Jenny is my hero...three pushes and Joshua was born!  She is amazing!

Joshua weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.  He did great breastfeeding immediately after birth and has been a feeding champ ever since :)

For those of you that don't know, Carl was Jenny's dad's name.  He passed away nearly 2 years ago.  Jenny thought it was a fitting tribute to give her son, her dad's name...and I couldn't agree more!!

Welcome to the world Joshua!  We already love you so much and we are so thankful you are now a part of our lives.  You have given your mom so much sunshine...and she has most certainly needed it!  You are destined for great things, little one.  But for now, we are just ready to enjoy you and all that you are!

Here are some pictures of Joshua taken while I was in Ohio.  Enjoy!

We Have a House

After looking at nearly 15 houses in two days, we narrowed our decision down to what we think is the "perfect" house!  We found it in the Highland Park Subdivision in Hampton Cove!

The house is 3,000 square feet, has a master bedroom, master bath, great room, breakfast nook, huge kitchen, dining room and upstairs there is a rec room, laundry room, two smaller rooms (one will go to Alex and we hope to fill the second with another child), a bathroom for the kids and a larger guest room (with it's own bathroom).  It has a large fenced in yard - great for BBQ's and a swingset for Alex, with plenty of room for the dogs to run around!

Here are a few pictures of the house!  Enjoy!

Off to Huntsville...

...we are spending the rest of the week looking for a house in Huntsville! We have a list of about 12 houses that we are so excited to look at. Our real estate agent, Susan Baldwin, has been absolutely wonderful about sending us houses to look at via the internet.

Seriously, how did people search for an out of town home before the internet?

Wish us luck this week in our house-hunting adventures. We are feeling slightly under pressure, since we have a potential buyer for our home here in Enterprise and they would like to close at the end of March or in mid-April! Yes, we have had an offer (and a great offer) on our house - after being on the market for ONLY 4 days! We know we are completely lucky and blessed!

So, please don't be offended if we don't get a chance to see everyone that we want to on this trip. We just HAVE to find a house - it is definitely a #1 priority!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my next post has plenty of pictures showing you our new home!

Sick, Sick Little Boy

For the past two days, Alex has been unusually grumpy and moody. He has also had some chest congestion and a deep cough.

We weren't too worried about it until last night, when he had a miserable night of sleep. I had to go in several times to rock him back to sleep and comfort him. Then when he woke up this morning - crying and telling us "ear hurt, kiss Momma" or "hurt ear, kiss Daddy"! It was pitiful. He was doing all he could to to stay awake, even though he wanted to go to sleep.

We called the doctor and they went ahead and told us to come in. We were supposed to be at the doctor for a 10:00 am appointment. At 11:00, I finally asked what was going on and why it was taking so long - apparently they lost our ticket (basically bad communication between the front and back office). Luckily for us, Alex was feeling so miserable and he slept during the wait - he was so pitiful:

Once we were taken back, the Nurse Practitioner looked Alex over. He did have a fever of 102, he did have a nasty cough and chest congestion (but luckily it hasn't spread to his lungs...YET) and he did have an ear infection. He got a prescription for an antibiotic and for a cough/congestion medicine. We were also told to alternate between tylenol and motrin every three hours.

Then on the way home from the doctor's office, Alex slept...AGAIN. He did eat a few bites of his burger and some french fries before nap. I was also able to get his medicines filled and get a dose in him before naptime. He slept like a champ during naptime. In fact, we even had to go and wake him up at 4:15 pm.

I do have to say amidst all of this, we are throughly enjoying the extra snuggle time. And we are quite please with ourselves that this is the first ear infection in 2.5 years of Alex's life :)

Please send some good thoughts for our little boy - we certainly can use them and we will certainly appreciate them!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from our family to yours!

Love,
Larry, Sarah and Alex

Here is a pictures of the beautiful tulips that Larry sent me (and the other cards on the mantle):
The card right next to the tulips is special...Alex made it for me! He colored it and put stickers on it (which he later decided he wanted back)!

Here is a picture of Larry's presents - various Alabama notecards, sticky notes (Larry loves his sticky notes), "Things to Do" list and notepaper:

Snow Day...in Enterprise, Alabama!

Well, the weather reports were right...we did get snow here in Enterprise, Alabama!

If I had to guess, we probably have gotten around 4 inches of snow - it is absolutely beautiful!

Larry woke up and it was only raining, so he went into work. Shortly after leaving the house, the rain turned into snow. He was told to go home around 9:30 am, so we were able to have Daddy home to play in the snow with us :)

The snow fell most of the day, sometimes in big, beautiful, fluffy flakes and sometimes just small, drizzle-like flakes!

Alex and Larry went outside and made a giant (well, giant to Alex) snowman, complete with a flight helmet. They made snow angels, had a snowball fight and had so much fun! As always, I supervised and took pictures :)

Here are a few pictures that I took with my cell phone camera:

Dressed in his warm clothes - I just love this hat:

We will play in the snow for you today and take plenty of pictures :)

Happy Birthday, Grandma :)

THANK YOU...

...to someone for a gift for Alex! No, I'm not being coy about who sent it....we really don't know who it was from :)

Yesterday, we received the cutest little gift for Alex. It is called "Blocks in a Box" and personalized with his name on it.

The shipping label states that it was shipped from a shipping company in Niceville, Florida, but there was no invoice in the box to tell us who sent this super cute gift to Alex. I sent e-mails and texts to everyone that I could think of asking who sent it...no
one knew! It is still a mystery to us!

Whoever you are (and I hope you read our blog), THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PRESENT FOR ALEX!!! It was such a nice surprise to receive a gift like this in the mail - especially when we weren't expecting it! If you did send Alex this gift, will you please comment on this post so we can properly thank you :)

House for Sale

Well, we did it...our house in Enterprise has been put up for sale!

For those of you that don't know, Larry's division has been relocated to Huntsville. So, where they go, we will follow :) Most of his division moved up during 2009 while we were living in Maryland. His report date is at the end of May, so our goal is to be up in the Huntsville area by the middle of May so we can get settled in a new house.

We have looked at houses online in Huntsville and have found a bunch that we like! We have narrowed it down to about 15 that we want to see during our "house-hunting" trip from February 17 to February 21.

We are both excited and nervous. As fun as this new adventure will be, it was kind of sad to put our "first home" up for sale. This is the house that we bought together, started our family in, made improvements to and really enjoyed for the past 3 and a half years. We have created so many memories in this house, but we look forward to making just as many memories in a new house!

And for any of our readers that know anyone that is in need of a house in Enterprise, Alabama. Please feel free to contact our Real Estate Agent - Joe Smith (334) 347-314o. You can view the link to our house at: http://idx2.wiregrassidx.com/listing.php?mls=30082&site_id=681&client_search=1350554

Biker Boy

Today, we took Alex out for a ride on his tricycle!

We always make him wear a helmet - we are trying to get him used to wearing it for the future!

He is slowly learning how to pedal the bike and he loves it.

Here are some pictures of Alex riding his tricycle today:
