Jax's 6 Month Pictures

Jax had another great picture session by a greenfield photography.

We had his 6 month pictures taken on his half-birthday (September 24).  We were blessed with incredible weather and a happy boy.

Kim posted a sneak peek of the pictures on her blog and I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out.  I am so anxious to see the rest of them!

Here is the preview on her blog:  Jax | 6 Months of Cuteness

Enjoy!!

3 Month Pictures

Jax had his three month pictures taken on Friday.  Our photographer, Kim Greenfield, was kind enough to post a sneak preview on her blog.

I think they turned out so good, but then again I am slightly biased :)

Jaxon's Newborn Pictures

On Saturday, I received my CD of images from Jaxon's newborn photoshoot!  I absolutely love them!  Kim did such an amazing job capturing the sweetness and wonderfulness of our newest blessing.

I had tears in my eyes as I scrolled through the images - it is still incredible to me to know that we have created such beautiful children!  The pictures that Kim got with my Mom and Dad's crosses and wedding rings are some of the most beautiful pictures.  It is bittersweet seeing them.  It makes me sad to know that my boys will never know them, but makes me so happy to have them photographed with something that was so special to them.  I will treasure those pictures always (I have some with Alex and their crosses as a newborn as well).

There are too many great pictures to choose from, so this post will have quite a few pictures.  I hope you all enjoy the pictures just as much as I do :)

I love the expression on Alex's face in this one :)

Newborn Pictures

On Monday, we had Kim Greenfield from a green field photography come over and take Jax's newborn pictures.  We didn't do this with Alex and I deeply regretted it.  I especially regret it now that I have seen how amazing Jaxon's pictures turned out.

We had a few pictures taken with Alex and Jax.  They turned out so cute!  Alex wasn't all that cooperative since he felt icky (snotty nose, sore throat, etc), but the few that she got were great!  For most of the pictures, Jaxon was asleep.  It was great because it allowed us to pose him however we wanted...and pose him we did!!  I also had her take a few pictures of Jaxon holding my mom and dad's crosses (that they were wearing in the accident) and their wedding rings.  Kim posted one of the crosses and I am so anxious to see the rest of them!

I am waiting to get the full CD of images from Kim, but in the meantime she posted a few previews to her website.  I wanted to share her website and also recommend her to anyone in the Huntsville/Madison area.  She takes amazing pictures and captures wonderful moments!  This is the second time that we have had Kim take pictures for our family - the first was in October for Alex's third birthday!

School Pictures

Alex had school pictures done this year.  He had them taken about two and a half weeks ago.  When I picked him up that day, his teachers told me that they really had to work to get some smiles out of him...definitely sounds like Alex!

I got the proofs of the pictures recently and really liked how they turned out.  Now comes the difficult part of picking which one to order!

Here are our two options:

Any votes on which one to order?!

Canvas Portraits

We recently ordered and received Canvases of our family pictures.  They came in and Larry hung them up immediately.  We could not be happier with how they look, both the pictures and the way they are hung on the wall!

I love them and highly recommend the company that did them for us Canvas People.

Here is a picture of our canvases hanging on our wall (FYI - this picture was taken with my cell phone, so the quality isn't all that great):

Professional Pictures - 2010

We recently had professional pictures take my Kimberly Greenfield of a green field photography.  She did an amazing job and got amazing shots of our family.

Here are several collages I made from the pictures she gave us....Enjoy!!  You should be able to click on each collage separately to see them!

Portrait Innovations Photo Shoot

After a bunch of prodding from Nana Lynn (Jenny's Mom), we took the kids to get a few pictures taken together for Christmas.

Kyle was acting like a little GQ model - posing, smiling on cue and just acting cute!

Katelyn was in a good mood and smiling like such a pretty little girl!

Alex was the worst out of the bunch. He had no patience (which meant that Mommy had no patience with him). He would only sit still for a few seconds...and only if he had a lollipop in his hand! There was no smiling on cue for him - he had to be bribed with a toy or candy to even give us the slightest hint of a smile! This was just another reminder of why we had candid pictures taken just a few weeks ago - he was much more cooperative that day!

Luckily though, we got a few great shots of the three kids and a few good shots of them individually. When it came time for a group shot (with Jenny and I), the kids would not sit still and we were unable to get a good group picture! Oh well - we can't get too greedy!

Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

Picture Time

As you all know, we had pictures taken of Alex (and us) on October 25, 2009. We found a local photographer, Liz Donovan (http://www.lizdonovanphotos.smugmug.com/) that we absolutely loved! The pictures turned out amazing and we are so happy with the result.

I got our CD full of pictures and uploaded them to my computer. After looking at all 251, we narrowed it down to 60(ish) of our favorites to share with our family and friends.

To our family: Last night, I got the CD's ready and today we mailed them off! Your CD will not have the watermark through it and you will be able to print off whatever pictures YOU like and in whatever sizes YOU want! We were finding it much too difficult to decide sizes and pictures for everyone!

Because I have been bursting at the seams to share the pictures with everyone, here is a slideshow full of our favorites:

We hope you all enjoy the pictures just as much as we do :)

Here is a picture that I messed around with and made black & white and boosted the effect a bit. I really liked how it turned out:

Picture Preview

Today, Larry, Alex and I FINALLY had some professional pictures taken! We decided that we wanted to take them in an outdoor setting (we realize that Alex is not at the age where he can sit in a studio and be "posed").

After looking online, I came across Liz Donovan Photography - http://www.lizdonovanphotos.smugmug.com/. I contacted Liz and we set up an appointment for today at 10:30 am at the Navy Rec Center at Solomon's Island. The Navy Rec Center has beautiful wooded areas, several playgrounds and a pier - the perfect setting for our family pictures. In fact, right now the leaves are changing and it is absolutely beautiful outside! The session went really great and we really liked Liz. She spent about an hour and half with us and told me this afternoon that she took 552 pictures!

We were fortunate that Alex was somewhat cooperative. Of course, he is two years old and doesn't want to sit still for too long, but Liz has two children of her own so she knew that she would have to chase after him to get good shots!

Shortly after we got back home, Liz e-mailed me two "sneak peeks" of our photo session. I asked her if it was okay that I share them with you all and she said "of course!"

Here are two preview shots of our photo session today. I can't wait until I can show you more!
